OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (KOKH) — Oklahoma’s Attorney General has filed a lawsuit accusing OK Crisis Nursery Foundation (also known as OKCity Crisis Nursery) of misusing charitable donations meant to help vulnerable children.

The petition alleges the nonprofit’s founder, Jennifer Roberts, diverted funds for personal expenses while failing to comply with state laws and oversight requirements.

OK Crisis Nursery was founded as an Oklahoma City-based nonprofit to provide short-term emergency care and support for children and families in crisis.

According to the lawsuit, the non-profit lost its 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status in 2024 because it failed to file its required annual tax information returns for three consecutive years.

OK Crisis Nursery Foundation lost its childcare license on December 31, 2025.

The Attorney General is asking the court to dissolve the OK Crisis Nursery Foundation and distribute its remaining assets to a similar charity.

He wants the court to appoint a receiver to preserve the remaining charitable assets, take control of the finances and pay any remaining debts.

He is also asking for an injunction against Roberts, prohibiting her from holding any office or having any role in a charitable non-profit in Oklahoma.
